Rhode Island Film Set With Leonardo Dicaprio And Hayden Panettiere

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Rhode Island’s burgeoning film industry is gaining momentum as Hollywood stars and crews descend upon the Ocean State. Verdi Productions recently completed filming its psychological thriller, “Sleepwalker,” featuring actress Hayden Panettiere, just a stone’s throw from its East Greenwich headquarters.

According to Steve Feinberg, Executive Director of Verdi Productions, principal photography for “Sleepwalker” wrapped up recently in Rhode Island. Photos shared by Feinberg from the East Greenwich set hint at a medical building backdrop, reflecting the film’s intense storyline.

“Sleepwalker” centers on a grieving mother, played by Panettiere, who is haunted by the loss of her daughter in a tragic car accident that also left her husband in a coma. As she navigates her grief, the boundaries between reality and her nightmares blur, propelled by her episodes of sleepwalking. “It’s an emotional rollercoaster,” said Feinberg. “We’re excited to share this story with audiences.”

In addition to Panettiere, the film features a prominent cast including Beverly D’Angelo, Misha Barton, Justin Chatwin, and Lori Tan Chinn. Each actor brings depth to their characters, promising a gripping experience for viewers.

Viewers are left anticipating, as no release date for “Sleepwalker” has been announced yet. The film is currently listed as being in post-production, indicating all filming in Rhode Island has concluded for now.

Rhode Island has become a popular destination for filmmakers, thanks in part to the state’s attractive tax incentives. Local film company Verdi Productions has capitalized on this trend, and their collaboration with DiCaprio’s production company underscores the growing allure of the state’s picturesque locations.

Meanwhile, excitement is building for “Saturday Night Live‘s” 50th anniversary special, airing on February 16. The celebration will feature past cast members including Woody Harrelson, who filmed his recent project “Ella McCay” in Rhode Island. Other stars expected to make appearances include Adam Driver, Kim Kardashian, and Robert De Niro.

Former SNL cast member Don Pardo, a voice familiar to generations of viewers, was born in Providence, connecting Rhode Island to the iconic show. His legacy continues to resonate in the entertainment landscape as the anniversary approaches.
