Ricky Davao Actor Film Performance

Quezon City, Philippines — Ricky Davao, known for his depth and discipline in acting, continues to be a significant figure in Filipino entertainment. Born Frederick Charles Caballes Davao on May 30, 1961, he has crafted a career that spans decades and is marked by versatility and profound artistry.

Davao, the son of legendary actor Charlie Davao and brother of Bing Davao, initially found his passion in dance as a member of the Vicor Crowd. This early experience in performance laid the foundation for his future acting career, where he became known for his transformative roles in theater, television, and film.

His portrayal of Bongbong Marcos in the 1980s play *Bongbong at Kris* and the character Eduard Rodrigo in *Mula sa Puso* showcased his ability to immerse himself in diverse roles. With each performance, Davao solidified his place among the greats of Filipino acting.

Unlike many public figures, Ricky Davao has maintained a clear distinction between his public and personal life. He married actress Jackie Lou Blanco in 1989 and together they had three children. Even after their separation, the two have remained respectful co-parents and even reunited for a project in 2021, delighting fans.

Currently, Ricky enjoys a new chapter with his partner, Malca Darocca, while keeping the details of their relationship mostly private. “It’s an open book,” he remarked about his life, emphasizing his preference for authenticity over public display.

His latest film, *Monday First Screening*, directed by Benedict Mique and produced by NET25 Films, features Davao alongside Gina Alajar in a story celebrating love later in life. At 63, he reflects a belief that passion, whether in career or love, evolves with time. “We just need to be happy,” he stated, resonating with the film’s message.

Beyond his artistic endeavors, Ricky Davao briefly ventured into politics in 2010, running for councilor in Quezon City’s 4th District. Though he withdrew his candidacy, the move highlighted his commitment to community engagement and service.

Ricky Davao embodies the spirit of an artist who defies singular definition, continuously evolving while staying true to his roots. As he celebrates another birthday, he remains a beloved figure in Filipino cinema, capturing hearts with his work and sincerity.
