Bigxthaplug Rapper Arrest Arlington Texas

ARLINGTON, Texas — Rising rap star BigXthaPlug, born Xavier Landum, was arrested early Wednesday morning on a marijuana possession charge. The incident occurred shortly after midnight when Arlington Police pulled him over for driving with expired tags.

According to the Arlington Police Department, as an officer approached BigX’s vehicle, the officer detected the smell of marijuana. The officer requested both BigX and his passenger, Cleodist Landum, to exit the vehicle.

Upon searching the car, officers discovered cigarettes and a green leafy substance in the vehicle’s console. They also located a handgun in the passenger door pocket, said an Arlington police spokesperson.

Cleodist Landum, 22, identified as BigX’s relative, was found to have an active felony warrant out of Bexar County, Texas. During the search, officers also discovered marijuana on him, resulting in charges for possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

BigXthaPlug, 26, was charged with possession of less than two ounces of marijuana and remains in custody at the Arlington City Jail. His representatives have not yet responded to requests for comment.

The arrest comes shortly after BigX released his latest project, “Take Care,” which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart. The Dallas native gained fame in 2023 with the hit song “Texas,” a tribute to his home state. “I feel like for the past decade it’s been a lot of mumble rap. People not talking about nothing,” BigX had stated in a previous interview. “I’m talking about something.”

Fans are now left questioning how this legal issue may affect his burgeoning music career. As the situation develops, many are closely monitoring the impact this may have on the rising star’s future projects.
