WEST CHESTER, Pa. — Robin Roberts, the acclaimed co-host of ABC’s Good Morning America, is set to speak at West Chester University on Friday, April 4, at 7 p.m. The event, part of the University’s President’s Speaker Series, will take place in the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, located at 700 S. High Street.

Tickets for the event are priced between $20 and $55 and are currently available for purchase by calling 610-436-2266 or visiting the university’s website.

During the evening, Roberts will engage in a discussion with WCU’s newly appointed President, Dr. Laurie Bernotsky, who will be inaugurated on March 28. This event will celebrate both Roberts’s contributions to journalism and the commencement of Bernotsky’s presidency.

Roberts has been a prominent figure in broadcast journalism since joining Good Morning America in 1995. She was named co-anchor in May 2005 and has since led the program to numerous Emmy Awards for Outstanding Morning Program, in addition to receiving the 2017 People’s Choice Award for Favorite Daytime TV Hosting Team.

In 2014, Roberts founded Rock’n Robin Productions, which focuses on creating original broadcast and digital programming. The company has produced several successful series, including the Thriver Thursday digital series and “Robin Roberts Presents” for the Lifetime Television Network. Her series Turning the Tables with Robin Roberts is available on Disney+.

Roberts holds a bachelor’s degree in communications, graduating cum laude from Southeastern Louisiana University, where she also excelled in women’s basketball and became one of the university’s all-time leading scorers and rebounders. In recognition of her sports achievements, she was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012.

As an author, Roberts released her books From the Heart: 7 Rules to Live By and Everybody’s Got Something. Her most recent work, Brighter By The Day: Waking Up to New Hopes and Dreams, debuted in 2022.

A native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Roberts currently resides in New York City. In addition to her talk, other upcoming WCU Live! events include Tamagawa University Taiko Drumming and Dance on Tuesday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m., with tickets also now available for that performance.
