Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Welcomes New Inductees at Star-Studded Ceremony
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is set to honor a new class of music legends at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, with a ceremony that will be accessible globally via livestream. The event promises to be a star-studded affair with notable artists such as A Tribe Called Quest, Cher, and Ozzy Osbourne among the inductees.
The induction ceremony will commence at 7 p.m. ET and will be made available for streaming on Disney+. For those without the service, a special broadcast is scheduled to air on New Year’s Day, further ameliorating access via Hulu and Disney+ from January 2.
A host of fellow musicians including Busta Rhymes, Dr. Dre, and Demi Lovato will attend as both presenters and performers, adding to the evening’s allure. Among those being honored, Cher, often referred to as the “Goddess of Pop,” is recognized for her powerful solo career and hits spanning decades, notably reaching number one on Billboard charts across seven decades.
The innovative hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest is acknowledged for creating a distinctive genre blend that has had a lasting influence on the industry since its formation in 1985 in Queens, New York.
The list of honorees extends to include Dave Matthews Band, known for their extensive touring and improvisational music style that has captivated audiences worldwide. Their induction celebrates their significant contribution to rock music, highlighted by a record of seven consecutive albums debuting at number one on the Billboard charts.
Rock enthusiasts will also see recognition for veteran acts as Foreigner and Kool & the Gang, who have each had a remarkable influence with timeless hits like “Juke Box Hero” and “Celebration,” respectively.
Additional honors are being bestowed upon legendary figures such as Mary J. Blige, remembered as the Queen of R&B, who has collected numerous prestigious awards throughout her career.
Ozzy Osbourne, already a Hall of Fame inductee with Black Sabbath, joins again as a solo artist known for his iconic tracks “Crazy Train” and “Bark at the Moon,” solidifying his presence in rock history.
The ceremony will further recognize influential industry contributors, with Alexis Korner, John Mayall, and Big Mama Thornton receiving the Musical Influence Award. Suzanne de Passe will be honored with the Ahmet Ertegun Award for her achievements in television production.
Dionne Warwick, Norman Whitfield, MC5, and the late Jimmy Buffett will receive the Musical Excellence Award, celebrating their exceptional influence and contributions to music.
