STAMFORD, Conn. — WWE Superstar Roman Reigns recently shared behind-the-scenes stories about Jon Moxley‘s unpredictable behavior during their time together in The Shield, revealing how Moxley would often vanish moments before their iconic entrances.

In an interview posted on January 30, 2025, Reigns recounted how Moxley, now a prominent figure in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), would frequently go missing just as the trio prepared to make their way through the crowd. “We had no clue where he is, but we always knew he would be there,” Reigns said. “A lot of times we would be up in the concourse. We’d all get up there together, and you’re wondering where he is because there are only so many places to hide.”

Reigns described how Moxley’s antics would sometimes leave him and Seth Rollins on edge. “He scared us a couple of times,” Reigns admitted. “They’re playing the Shield music and going through the alphabet. I’m over here looking at Seth like, ‘You know where the fox is?’ The fox is going to fox. Every time it was time to take a step down those stairs, he was always there.”

The former WWE Universal Champion also shared anecdotes about Moxley’s quirky habits outside the ring. “We’d be walking through the airport, and he’d just disappear. ‘Where is he?’ Out of nowhere, he’d pop up with a bagel, a coffee, mouth half full with a croissant,” Reigns recalled with a laugh.

Reigns expressed hope that Moxley, now a father and husband, has become more predictable for his family’s sake. “It’s been a while, and he’s got a family now, so I’m hoping he’s a little more predictable for his wife and child’s sake,” Reigns said. “But he was an unpredictable dude, for sure.”

The Shield, consisting of Reigns, Moxley, and Rollins, debuted in WWE in 2012 and quickly became one of the most dominant factions in wrestling history. Their unique entrance through the crowd, accompanied by their signature theme music, remains a fan-favorite memory.

Moxley, who left WWE in 2019 and joined AEW, has continued to make waves in the wrestling world with his unorthodox style and unpredictable nature. Reigns, meanwhile, has solidified his status as one of WWE’s top stars, currently holding the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

While the trio has gone their separate ways, Reigns’ stories highlight the camaraderie and chaos that defined their time together in The Shield. Fans of the group continue to reminisce about their groundbreaking run, with many hoping for a potential reunion in the future.
