Rosie’s New Romance Sparks Tension in ‘Lopez vs. Lopez’ Season 3
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — In the latest episode of NBC‘s hit comedy series “Lopez vs. Lopez,” Rosie Lopez (Selenis Leyva) steps back into the dating world, but her new romance stirs up unexpected tension. The Season 3 episode, titled “Lopez vs. Memories,” premiered on January 15, 2025, and follows Rosie as she navigates a budding relationship with Roberto (Estrada), a genuinely nice guy who also happens to be Quinten‘s (Matt Shively) boss.
Mayan Lopez (Mayan Lopez) and Quinten are less than thrilled about Rosie’s new beau. In an exclusive sneak peek shared by Collider, Quinten attempts to coach Roberto into adopting a “bad boy” persona to impress Rosie, with hilariously awkward results. Roberto, dressed in a leather jacket and gold chain, struggles to embody the edgy image Quinten envisions, revealing his true, dorky nature instead.
The double date takes a cringe-worthy turn when Roberto attempts a bouquet-in-the-sleeve magic trick and claims to be a “Magic Castle certified illusionist in the streets and in the sheets.” Rosie’s confused and concerned expressions, paired with Mayan’s side-eye, suggest Roberto has a long way to go to win over the Lopez family matriarch.
Meanwhile, George Lopez faces his own challenges as he confronts painful memories to recover lost home videos of Mayan’s childhood. The episode delves into the generational strain between George and Mayan, offering a heartfelt exploration of their complex relationship.
“Lopez vs. Lopez” continues to resonate with audiences, blending humor and emotional depth as it explores themes of family, reconnection, and personal growth. The series, created by Mayan Lopez and Debby Wolfe, has been a standout for NBC, now in its third season.
Estrada, known for his role as Julio Lopez in “This Fool,” brings his comedic talents to the show, marking his first live-action appearance since the series ended in 2023. His portrayal of Roberto adds a fresh dynamic to the Lopez family’s antics.
With only three episodes left in the season, fans can look forward to more laughs and heartfelt moments, including a guest appearance by a “Saved By the Bell” star in an upcoming episode. “Lopez vs. Lopez” airs on NBC at 8:30 p.m. ET.
