Rumors of Predator’s Inclusion in Upcoming Alien Sequel Persist

LOS ANGELES, CA — Entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider recently hinted at a significant crossover in the Alien franchise. He claims the script for the upcoming sequel to Alien: Romulus, directed by Fede Álvarez, may feature a Predator character. Sneider shared this information on his podcast, sparking excitement and speculation among fans.
Sneider stated, “I’ve heard there is a Predator in the script for Fede Alvarez’s follow-up to Alien: Romulus.” This claim follows a teaser for the new Predator film, Predator: Badlands, which also suggests a connection between the two franchises. The intertwining of these beloved sci-fi universes echoes elements from past films, including the 1990 hit, Predator 2, which famously featured a Xenomorph skull in a Predator trophy case.
Fede Álvarez has been vocal about his desire to explore a potential Alien vs. Predator (AVP) project. In past interviews, he mentioned the idea of co-directing a crossover film with fellow filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg. “The best AVP will be the one that you don’t know is AVP until the other guy shows up,” Álvarez said. He emphasized that surprising audiences with character reveals could enhance the film experience.
The interest in blending these franchises is not new. Previous AVP movies, Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007), have been largely dismissed by the current continuity established by Prometheus (2012) and Alien: Covenant (2017). However, recent developments hint at the possibility of reuniting the two worlds.
Fans are divided on the idea of merging Alien and Predator universes. Some express enthusiasm for the crossover, while others argue it dilutes the individual franchises. One fan stated, “I always felt the Alien and Predator series were part of one big family,” while another criticized the idea, saying the Alien franchise “does not need a Predator.”
As anticipation builds for both Alien: Romulus and Predator: Badlands, the possibility of a future crossover remains a hot topic among fans. Until then, fans are encouraged to keep an eye on updates from the respective filmmakers.
