Russell Crowe Podcast Property Purchase

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Russell Crowe shared insights into his early property investment during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast on November 6.

The Academy Award-winning actor reminisced about his decision to buy a rural property in Nana Glen on the New South Wales North Coast. Crowe bought the 100-acre bushland on January 20, 1996, before the filming of LA Confidential began.

“I always look back at my 30-year-old self who made the decision to take the little bit of money that I’d earned at that point, 31, 32 I was, and buy 100 acres in the bush, because somehow I knew I would need that place,” he said.

Crowe described the property as his haven, a place to escape and recharge. “I call the place I have in the bush, it’s not its official name, but I call it the panacea,” he explained. “It will fix all ill, but you have to give over to its rhythm.”

The actor emphasized the importance of immersing oneself in the natural setting. “You just have to really give yourself over to it,” Crowe noted, mentioning daily tasks like checking on cattle while enjoying the tranquility of the bush.

Furthermore, Crowe expressed that once he passes through the front gates to his property, he can shed the persona of the famous actor. “I’m no longer that. I’m a son, I’m a brother, I’m an uncle, I’m a dad,” he shared.

Since his initial purchase, Crowe has expanded his property holdings, acquiring additional surrounding land, bringing his total to hundreds of hectares. His property endeavors reflect his connection to the land and desire for a personal retreat away from the spotlight.
