Sadie Sink Joins Tom Holland in Upcoming Spider-Man Sequel

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Sadie Sink, known for her role in Netflix’s hit series “Stranger Things,” has been cast alongside Tom Holland in the upcoming fourth installment of the “Spider-Man” franchise. Production is scheduled to begin later this year, with the film being a collaboration between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.
Tom Holland is set to reprise his role as Peter Parker, while the specifics of the character Sink will portray remain under wraps. However, sources suggest that she might take on the role of Jean Grey, a popular character from the “X-Men” universe, although it’s also possible she could represent another beloved redhead from Spider-Man lore.
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have yet to comment on the casting announcement. Destination Daniel Cretton, who directed “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” is helming the sequel, with Amy Pascal and Marvel President Kevin Feige producing.
The importance of Sink’s role is underscored by the events of the last Spider-Man film, “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which saw Peter Parker erasing his identity from the world’s memory as part of a spell cast by Doctor Strange. This new installment is set to continue the storyline, possibly limiting the roles of Holland’s previous onscreen companions, including Zendaya’s MJ and Jacob Batalon’s Ned.
Holland is currently filming “The Odyssey,” a project directed by Christopher Nolan, and will transition to “Spider-Man 4” upon its completion. For Sink, this casting comes as she wraps up her time with “Stranger Things,” with its fifth and final season expected to premiere later this year. Additionally, Sink has received positive reviews for her upcoming performance in the Searchlight musical “O'Dessa,” which recently premiered at the SXSW festival.
Before filming “Spider-Man 4,” Sink will star in the Broadway play “John Proctor Is the Villain,” which opens on April 4. Represented by WME, Mara Entertainment, and Peikoff Mahan, Sink’s rise as a prominent star in Hollywood continues to gather momentum.
This story is still developing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available regarding the casting and production of “Spider-Man 4.”
