San Antonio Zoo Capybara Pokémon Card Event

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Zoo is set to commemorate National Pokémon Day with a special collector’s card event on February 27 and 28. Each day, the first 250 guests visiting the Project Selva 4D Theater can receive a limited-edition Tupi Pokémon card, featuring the zoo’s latest capybara sensation.

Tupi, the zoo’s newest resident, has garnered attention on social media, with one video racking up over 300,000 views. To celebrate, the zoo aims to engage the community and promote wildlife conservation efforts.

During this event, all Bexar County residents can enjoy discounted entrance fees of $8. The zoo will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., providing an excellent opportunity for locals to experience its conservation programs and animal care initiatives.

“Locals Days allows even more people to learn how the zoo combines conservation, animal care, and education to secure a future for wildlife,” said a zoo official in a recent news release.

Tickets for Locals Days can be purchased online, requiring proof of Bexar County residency, such as a valid ID or utility bill. For those unable to attend this week, additional Locals Days are scheduled for later in the year, ensuring ample chances to partake in similar events.

The San Antonio Zoo continues to encourage community involvement and education, creating memorable experiences for residents and visitors alike.
