Sap To Pay R2.2 Billion In Restitution To South Africa

German software giant SAP has agreed to pay back over R2 billion to South Africa as restitution for the funds that were stolen in corrupt activities involving companies owned by controversial figures.

After a lengthy investigation into state capture, it was revealed that SAP had paid bribes in order to secure contracts, resulting in significant financial losses for the country. As a result, SAP has now committed to returning R2.2 billion to the South African government.

This restitution payment is a significant step towards holding those involved in corruption accountable and recovering the funds that were unlawfully taken. The repayment will contribute to the country’s efforts to combat corruption and rebuild its economy.
