Schiaparelli Hooded Gown Bfi Southbank Premiere 2024

LONDON, England — The futuristic hood, once a staple of high fashion and red carpet glamour, made a striking return at the British premiere of A Complete Unknown on January 14. Actress Barbaro turned heads in a Schiaparelli spring 2024 Haute Couture gown, featuring a dramatic hooded design that blended retro extraterrestrial aesthetics with modern sophistication.

The black silk gown, styled by Barbaro’s team, included a plunging neckline and a subtle silhouette that has dominated this season’s red carpets. The hood, fastened with Schiaparelli’s signature keyhole motif and adorned with an ornate stoned buckle, added a regal touch to the ensemble. Barbaro accessorized minimally, opting for silver earrings to complement the gown’s sleek lines.

Barbaro’s look was a nod to Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry‘s vision for the spring 2024 collection, which emphasized sleek, chic, and extraterrestrial-inspired designs. The actress, known for her portrayal of Joan Baez in the Bob Dylan biopic, has consistently embraced timeless yet fashion-forward red carpet choices.

Her co-stars also made waves with their style choices. Timothée Chalamet, who plays Bob Dylan, embraced a London-inspired aesthetic, arriving at the premiere on a Lime Bike and wearing custom Martine Rose. Meanwhile, another cast member explored ultra-feminine ’60s aesthetics, reflecting the film’s era.

Barbaro’s recent red carpet appearances have showcased her ability to balance classic glamour with intricate craftsmanship. At a previous event, she wore a tulle gown layered with micro-beads and embroidery, which took over 1,100 hours to create. Her style philosophy emphasizes simplicity and ornate details, making her a standout on the red carpet.

The premiere, held at the BFI Southbank, celebrated the upcoming biopic, which has already garnered attention for its authentic portrayal of Bob Dylan’s life and music. Barbaro’s nomination for the forthcoming SAG Awards further highlights her impactful performance as Joan Baez.
