Scott Mills' Tough Time On Reality Show

Scott Mills recently shared his challenging experience on the reality show, Celebrity Race Across The World. The 51-year-old Radio 2 presenter had to stop filming for three days due to what he first thought were severe headaches.

While filming in Brazil, Scott felt really awful. He described the headaches as something he never usually experiences, saying, “I started getting these mad headaches – I don’t get headaches – but I was getting really awful ones.” At one point, he had to tell the producers, “I can’t film today, I’m really sorry.” A medic was nearby to help him with food and medication, but relief did not come easily.

The plot thickened when his partner on the show, Sam Vaughan, pointed out that Scott hadn’t had coffee in days. Scott realized he was suffering from caffeine withdrawal, which added to their struggles on their South American journey.

Scott’s coffee habit became a point of frustration for the couple as they tried to manage their budget while competing against other celebrity pairs, including Kelly Brook and her husband, Jeremy Parisi, and Jeff Brazier with his son Freddy.

Scott admitted that the high temperatures during their travels also took a toll on him. He recalled one particularly rough bus ride where the heat was unbearable, and the air conditioning didn’t reach the toilet. He humorously added that it was the grimmest thing he had ever done.

To make matters worse, they had to face language barriers in Brazil. Scott remarked, “No one speaks English in Brazil – nobody – so you have no concept of how long it’s going to take for another bus to come.” He found it frustrating and acknowledged that they were usually lazy about learning other languages.

Despite all the challenges, Scott has taken valuable insights from this experience as he prepares for his upcoming honeymoon in October. He joked that it was “horrendous” being without his phone during the show, but he plans to lock it away when they celebrate their marriage.

Even after the hardships, Scott expressed that he now feels differently about travel accommodations. After staying in various places on the show, he decided that they no longer need to book expensive hotels.

While reflecting on his adventure, Scott pointed out who he thinks wouldn’t survive on the show – Rylan Clark. He shared a conversation with Rylan, affirming that navigating public transport would be a challenge for him.
