Scott Pilgrim Ex Game Announcement

MONTREAL (June 6, 2025) – Tribute Games announced today an exciting new entry in the Scott Pilgrim video game universe titled Scott Pilgrim EX. The game is set for release in early 2026 and promises a thrilling adventure through a reimagined Toronto.

Scott Pilgrim EX combines retro-inspired pixel art with chaotic four-player cooperative combat. Players will control Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, and other beloved characters as they battle enemies in a version of Toronto overrun by robots, demons, and vegan henchmen.

“This game is about friendship, our love of video games, music, and hitting robots in the face with a volleyball,” said Jonathan Lavigne, game director at Tribute Games. “It’s full of lore, references, easter eggs, and passion. It’s the Scott Pilgrim game fans have been waiting for.”

The storyline, co-created by Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, will feature a completely original script that expands the universe in exciting new ways. Players can expect high-energy action with entertaining character progression.

Eric Lafontaine, Tribute’s marketing and publishing manager, stated, “The team is so small and we’re so close with Bryan and Universal, it’s such a quick environment for us to be creative.”

Scott Pilgrim EX will also feature a score by the chiptune band Anamanaguchi, who returns to create new music for the game. Both the graphics and gameplay will pay homage to classic beat-’em-up games, with additional elements that enhance the overall experience.

“Working on a game like this is a dream come true, especially with this team of old friends and new collaborators,” said O’Malley. Fans can expect the unexpected in Scott Pilgrim EX as it blends nostalgia with innovative gameplay.

Scott Pilgrim EX is set to launch on multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Windows PC, and Xbox.
