Season 3 of ‘Euphoria’ Starts Production with New Cast Members

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 14, 2025 — Production has officially begun on the much-anticipated third season of HBO‘s acclaimed series ‘Euphoria.’ The new season introduces several high-profile cast members, including Grammy-winning artist Rosalía, Super Bowl champion Marshawn Lynch, and Kadeem Hardison, known for his role in ‘A Different World.’
HBO announced the production start on X, revealing a mix of returning and new cast members. Joining regulars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi are Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert, and Anna Van Patten in notable guest roles. Colman Domingo will return as a guest star, while Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry have been promoted to series regulars.
Missing from the cast in this new season are Nika King, Algee Smith, and Dominic Fike. Storm Reid also confirmed her character Gia, sister of Zendaya’s Rue, will not appear due to scheduling conflicts.
The upcoming eight-episode season is set to premiere in 2026, four years after Season 2 aired. This new storyline will feature a significant time jump, moving characters beyond their high school years.
‘Euphoria’ creator Sam Levinson leads the production, which has garnered 25 Emmy nominations and won nine, making it one of the most-watched series in HBO’s history. The show will see new additions to its crew, including Colleen Atwood, a four-time Oscar-winning costume designer, alongside Natasha Newman-Thomas and Francois Audouy who take on roles as costume and production designers, respectively.
Rosalía expressed her excitement about joining the cast, saying, ‘Euphoria has been my favorite series of the last few years, and I couldn’t be happier… I can’t wait to share what we’re doing!!!’
Diverse cast member Hardison emphasized his eagerness to reunite with Zendaya, stating, ‘It’s amazing to be back on set with Z… Our hearts go out to everyone affected [by the recent events in Los Angeles], and here’s to hoping more productions follow suit and come back to shoot.’
Lynch added, ‘I’m hella juiced about the show and getting a chance to work with everyone involved. At the end of the day, I’m just thankful for the opportunity.’
The first two seasons of ‘Euphoria’ received critical acclaim, with the second season quickly becoming HBO’s second-most watched series ever, following ‘Game of Thrones.’
