Sebastian Maniscalco Performing Stand Up Comedy

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco is set to entertain audiences at the Xcel Energy Center this Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025. Known for his vibrant stage presence and physical comedy, Maniscalco is bringing his latest tour to the Twin Cities, promising a night filled with laughter.

Maniscalco, who was recently ranked by Billboard Boxscore as having the fifth highest-grossing comedy tour of 2024, has gained widespread acclaim following the success of his Netflix specials and appearances in films such as “About My Father” and the Max series “Bookie.” “My goal has always been to create an experience that everybody feels included in, no matter where they sit,” he said during a recent interview from his home in Los Angeles.

The comedian’s style is characterized by his exaggerated gestures and relatable storytelling. “I grew up in the ‘80s, watching the greats. There was a certain showmanship to comedy back then that I try to uphold,” he explained, citing influences like Eddie Murphy and the Rat Pack. “I hope we can bring back that sense of occasion to comedy shows.”

As Maniscalco prepares for his performance, he reflects on the importance of engaging audiences in large arenas. “Today, people have shorter attention spans,” he noted, explaining his need for physical movement while performing. “I’m always moving, prowling around the stage — it helps keep the audience’s attention.” This physicality, he believes, is a differentiator from many other comedians who often prefer to maintain a cool demeanor.

The comedian also has a unique perspective on his film work. “When I’m on set, I’m focused on my role. I’m there to do my job, not to entertain between takes,” he stated, highlighting the distinction between being a performer on stage and an actor on film. Maniscalco, who co-wrote and starred in “About My Father,” also expressed admiration for actor Robert De Niro, who portrayed his father in the film. “Working with someone like De Niro was surreal; he has a great comedic side,” he shared.

With two small children at home, Maniscalco considers how his family life influences his career. “I’m trying to balance it all,” he said. “I don’t want to miss out on family moments because I’m on the road all the time.” He also mentioned that while they do not frequently accompany him on his tours, his kids are becoming more independent travelers.

The upcoming show at Xcel Energy Center is part of Maniscalco’s broader tour, which has seen him sell out multiple venues across the country. Tickets for the St. Paul performance range from $50.80 to $119.75, offering fans a chance to see one of comedy’s biggest stars in action.

As Maniscalco gears up for his show, he remains enthusiastic about connecting with fans through humor. “At the end of the day, it’s all about bringing joy to people,” he concluded.
