Shadow Regigigas Pokémon Go Raid

San Francisco, CA – Trainers around the world eagerly prepared for the debut of Shadow Regigigas, which stormed into Pokémon GO on May 16, 2025, as part of a special Shadow Raid Day. The iconic Shadow Legendary appeared at Team GO Rocket-controlled gyms, led by the infamous Giovanni.

This event marked a significant shift in gameplay, as trainers could now participate in Shadow Raids remotely, with a newly boosted daily limit of ten remote raids. Every trainer also had the chance to capture a Shiny Shadow Regigigas, enhancing the excitement of the day.

The top raid counters were essential for overcoming Shadow Regigigas, with Mega Lucario leading the pack at a Damage Per Second (DPS) of 25.65. Other strong choices included Mega Rayquaza and Mega Heracross, known for their powerful moves and advantageous stats in battle.

When attempting to catch Shadow Regigigas, trainers could expect its Combat Power (CP) to range between 2315 and 3104, depending on weather conditions. Notably, Shadow Regigigas is weak against Fighting-type moves, which can be crucial for victory. Trainers were advised to assemble teams of at least four to ensure success in their raids.

Additionally, the use of Purified Gems was recommended to reduce the Shadow Legendary’s attack and defense, adding a strategic element to the raids. Trainers could collect Shadow Shards from battles against Team GO Rocket’s Grunts and Leaders, further engaging players in the world of Pokémon GO.

The event concluded with trainers leaving victorious, eager for future challenges and the ongoing adventures within Pokémon GO.
