Shah Rukh Khan Voices Mufasa in New Disney Film
Shah Rukh Khan, the Indian superstar, is all set to lend his voice to Mufasa in the Hindi version of Disney’s upcoming film, “Mufasa: The Lion King.” He will be joined by his sons, Aryan Khan and AbRam, who will voice Simba and young Mufasa, respectively.
This eagerly anticipated film, directed by Barry Jenkins, tells the story of Mufasa’s rise to become the beloved king of the Pride Lands. The narrative also introduces a playful cub named Mufasa, a sympathetic lion named Taka, and their journey with a unique group of characters.
Despite having voiced Mufasa in the 2019 live-action version of “The Lion King,” Khan shared his excitement about returning to the role. He mentioned, “Mufasa has an incredible legacy and stands as the ultimate king of the jungle.” He expressed a deep connection to the character’s journey, especially as he gets to share this experience with his sons.
Bikram Duggal, the Head of Studios at Disney Star, praised the casting choice, stating that Mufasa embodies a spirit that inspires generations. “We could not envision anyone other than Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan returning as Mufasa and Simba,” he added.
The film will be released on December 20 in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. It promises to blend live-action with stunning computer-generated imagery, featuring an impressive voice cast that includes Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., and Donald Glover.
