Sheamus Promises ‘Netflix and Kill’ in Historic WWE Match on Netflix
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — WWE star Sheamus is set to make history tonight as he faces Ludwig Kaiser in a singles match on Netflix, marking the streaming giant’s first foray into live WWE programming. The bout, scheduled for Jan. 13, 2025, will be Sheamus’ debut on Netflix, adding to his appearances on USA Network, MyNetworkTV, SyFy, and Fox during his 16-year career.
Leading up to the match, Sheamus took to social media to hype the event with his signature wordplay. On X (formerly Twitter), he posted a black-and-white photo of himself flexing, accompanied by a message: “Tonight, we turn ‘Netflix and Chill’ into ‘Netflix and Kill.'” He also declared that this match would usher in “The Banger Era” of WWE on Netflix.
Sheamus, who debuted on WWE TV in 2009, has become a fan favorite for his hard-hitting style and charismatic persona. His match against Kaiser is particularly significant, as it follows a brutal assault by Kaiser in late 2024 that left Sheamus sidelined for a month. The two have been embroiled in a heated rivalry since their clashes at Survivor Series: WarGames in October and November 2024.
Tonight’s match not only represents a fresh start for Sheamus in 2025 but also a milestone for WWE’s partnership with Netflix. The streaming service has been expanding its live sports and entertainment offerings, and this event is expected to draw significant viewership from wrestling fans worldwide.
“This is a huge moment for WWE and Netflix,” said wrestling analyst John Smith. “Sheamus is a proven draw, and his ability to connect with the audience makes him the perfect choice to headline this historic event.”
As the clock ticks down to the match, fans are eagerly anticipating whether Sheamus can deliver on his promise of a “Netflix and Kill” performance and kick off WWE’s new era on the platform with a bang.
