Singer Roan Announces Release Date for ‘The Giver’ Vinyl

LOS ANGELES, CA — Singer Roan has officially announced the release date for her highly anticipated track “The Giver,” which is now available for preorder as a 7-inch aquamarine vinyl. Fans can expect shipments to begin “on or around” August 18 this year.
The Missouri native revealed the news via Instagram on Tuesday, February 18, shortly after teasing fans during her Saturday Night Live performance in November and through a unique dial-in stunt over the weekend. The vinyl, dubbed “The Lawyer Edition,” features Roan modeling a formal attorney’s outfit. By press time, the limited release had already sold out, although fans can sign up for notifications regarding restocks.
“ur ex’s worst nightmare + she gets the job DONE,” Roan captioned a photo of her in the stylish ensemble. In addition to the vinyl rollout, she had kept fans engaged with clever hints about the upcoming release, including a call to a number, (629) 468-8646, which provided snippets of the song when called.
The snippets showcase her confident declaration that she can satisfy a female partner better than any man, stating, “get the job done” and asserting the abilities of women in her lyrically strong spoken word segments.
Roan’s promotional strategy included cleverly designed billboards in cities like New York and Los Angeles, where she creatively labeled herself as an attorney. One billboard read, “Ew … someone had a little accident,” while another playfully dubbed her, “Los Angeles’ finest divorce lawyer.” In her latest post, she hinted that more ads would appear in various locations, asking fans to keep a lookout.
The release of “The Giver” marks Roan’s first new music since her Grammy-winning debut album, “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.” Earlier, producer Dan Nigro had mentioned in a New York Times interview that the track would showcase a different side of Roan with its fiddle-infused sound.
At the time, he indicated that the singer was already working on her sophomore album, which would include ballads and mid-tempo songs, saying it would reveal a “new version” of Roan. With her growing influence, several high-profile musicians, such as Sabrina Carpenter and Charli XCX, have joined her call for better health care resources for upcoming artists.
