Sister Wives’ Meri Considers Legal Action Over Arizona Property Dispute
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Meri Brown, star of TLC‘s “Sister Wives,” revealed her frustrations over the shared Arizona property with her ex-husband Kody Brown, his wife Robyn, and former sister wife Janelle during the show’s latest episode on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025. The ongoing dispute centers on the division of their Flagstaff land, Coyote Pass, which has become a source of tension since the dissolution of their plural marriage.
During a video call with Janelle, Meri expressed her concerns about Kody’s unilateral decision to sell the property. “I don’t think you get to decide what to do with it,” Meri told Janelle, referring to Kody. “Sorry, you are not the head of my family.” Meri later explained in a confessional that she believes each party has their own agenda. “I feel like Kody and Robyn probably have some plan of what they want to do, and how they want to handle it,” she said. “I think that Janelle has some sort of plan, and I know that I do as well.”
Meri also revealed her intention to seek legal counsel to protect her interests. “There’s been a lot of confusion surrounding the way things have been done in the family, the way that Kody is with me and has been with me for many, many years,” she said. “So I think that’s why I’m going to get a lawyer to help me through this process.”
Janelle, who previously hired her own lawyer to ensure a fair division of assets, advised Meri to do the same. “I just want this to be done because this is the only thing that still ties me to Kody, and I’m ready to just close that chapter,” Janelle said during the episode. She also expressed doubts about Kody’s fairness, stating, “I don’t recognize who this guy is anymore.”
The Coyote Pass property, purchased in 2018 for $820,000, was initially intended to be a shared family compound. However, after Christine Brown left the plural marriage in November 2021 and sold her share of the land to Kody, the dynamics shifted. Meri and Janelle followed suit, announcing their separations from Kody within 14 months of Christine’s departure, leaving Robyn as Kody’s only remaining wife.
Kody, however, disputed the notion that the land was equally paid for by all parties. “We didn’t pay for Coyote Pass all equally—I paid for an entire lot all by myself, at least 92 percent of it,” he said during the episode. Despite his claims, Meri and Janelle maintain that they contributed equally and are entitled to a fair share of the proceeds from the sale.
As the drama unfolds, Meri is determined to stand her ground. “I felt like for quite a few years, I’ve just kind of sat back and not wanted to ruffle feathers,” she said. “So I haven’t pushed the issue on many things, but I will push the issue now.”
“Sister Wives” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
