Six Superman Actors Unite at Fan Expo New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS, La. — Six actors who have portrayed Superman across film and television came together for a historic photo opportunity at Fan Expo New Orleans, delighting fans of the iconic superhero. The event featured Tom Welling (Smallville), Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman), George Newbern (Justice League/Justice League Unlimited), Tim Daly (Superman: The Animated Series), Tyler Hoechlin (Superman & Lois), and Brandon Routh (Superman Returns).
The rare gathering was captured in a photo shared by a Superman cosplayer, showcasing the actors alongside a fan dressed as the Man of Steel. The image quickly went viral, highlighting the enduring legacy of the DC Comics hero.
Brandon Routh, who first played Superman in the 2006 film Superman Returns, reprised the role in the 2019 Arrowverse crossover event, Crisis on Infinite Earths. Routh was the only actor in the group to have started his Superman journey on the big screen.
The event underscored Superman’s global appeal, with fans from multiple generations celebrating the character’s rich history. “Having incredible moments like these reminds us of Superman’s huge history and global fanbase,” said one attendee. “It’s amazing to see so many versions of the character come together.”
Superman’s legacy continues to evolve, with James Gunn set to reintroduce the character in the upcoming DC Universe film. The Fan Expo photo serves as a testament to the hero’s enduring relevance in pop culture.
Fans looking to meet Superman stars in person can attend upcoming conventions, including Fan Expo Portland in January 2025, where Tyler Hoechlin and other Superman-related celebrities will appear.
