NEW YORK, N.Y. — Sling TV has announced a significant upgrade to its cloud DVR service, removing recording limits and offering unlimited storage for an additional $5 per month. The move comes as streaming services continue to raise prices, with Sling TVu2019s Blue and Orange plans now costing $45.99 each monthly, and the combined package priced at $61.

The new u201cUnlimited DVRu201d feature allows users to record as much content as they want, with recordings saved for up to nine months. This enhancement aims to provide more flexibility for viewers, particularly those who want to save entire seasons or replay sports events. u201cUnlimited DVR will allow customers to record as much content as they want, with recordings saved for up to nine months,u201d the company stated.

In addition to unlimited recording, the service offers ad-skipping capabilities, cross-device accessibility, and cloud-based convenience, eliminating the need for physical hardware. However, the feature is not included in Sling TVu2019s base subscription, unlike YouTube TV, which bundles unlimited DVR with its standard plan.

Sling TV has also introduced a new program called Pause Extra, allowing subscribers to temporarily suspend their accounts for $5 per month while retaining some benefits. This option is designed for viewers who want to take a break from their subscriptions without losing access to features like AMC+ and unlimited DVR.

Despite these innovations, the streaming landscape remains competitive, with rising costs and evolving consumer demands. Sling TVu2019s latest offerings aim to differentiate the service in a crowded market, but whether these features will offset the sting of higher prices remains to be seen.
