SNL’s Aid Gardner Teases Return Amid Cast Exit Rumors

Kansas City, MO — As rumors swirl about cast members leaving Saturday Night Live ahead of its 51st season, fans received some encouraging news about Aidy Gardner. She recently concluded her eighth season on the iconic sketch show and appears ready to return.
During the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend, an event benefiting Children’s Mercy Hospital, Gardner donated an item that allows the winning bidder to attend a future SNL episode, join her for a behind-the-scenes tour, and be her guest at the after-party. While this is not an official confirmation of her return, it is the first indication that Gardner plans to stay with SNL in September.
There has been speculation that Gardner, along with other cast members, might consider leaving the show this year. In February, she hinted at her uncertainty about her future during an appearance on a talk show, stating that sketch ideas had stopped coming to her as easily as before.
This weekend, Gardner co-hosts the Big Slick event, featuring other notable names like fellow SNL cast member Kenan Thompson and alumni Robert Smigel, Will Forte, and Jason Sudeikis. All have deep ties to the event, contributing to its ongoing success.
