Saturday Night Live Chris Rock Gracie Abrams

NEW YORK, March 15, 2025 – Fans of “Saturday Night Live” will have to wait another week for a fresh episode as the iconic sketch comedy series is on a brief hiatus. Tonight, NBC will re-air Chris Rock‘s episode from December 14, 2024, which features musical guest Gracie Abrams.

The original airing of Rock’s episode was notable for its humorous exploration of the year’s events, including lighthearted jabs at public figures like P-Diddy and Donald Trump. Rock opened with a fiery monologue that resonated deeply with viewers. One fan wrote, “He literally summarized the whole year in 7 minutes and it was consistently hilarious.”

Rock’s episode also included a memorable holiday sketch about mall Santas and a vibrant performance from Abrams, who performed her hit song “That’s So True.” The episode will air at 11:30 PM ET on NBC.

Over the past few weeks, “SNL” has featured compelling episodes hosted by Shane Gillis and Lady Gaga. Gillis hosted on March 1 and was followed by Gaga on March 8, where she performed songs from her latest album, marking her second time hosting the series.

In her previous appearance, Gaga successfully balanced comedy and musical performance, showcasing her talents in Studio 8H. Fans praised her session as one of the highlights of the season.

As for when the next new episode will air, NBC has not yet announced a specific date. However, based on routine patterns, it is expected that “SNL” will return live either on March 29 or April 5, as the network tends to take brief breaks between episodes in late March.

Until then, viewers can catch up on recent episodes streaming on Peacock, where they can also enjoy the entirety of “SNL’s” 50-year history and its associated special events, including the anniversary special aired on February 16, 2025.

Looking ahead, fans are eager for an updated lineup of hosts after this hiatus. Regular cast members this season include Michael Che, Kenan Thompson, and Ego Nwodim, among others. Past seasons have shown that the show can revitalize itself with dynamic guest hosts and musical acts, ensuring a fresh experience each week.

For those looking to set their DVRs or plan a watch party for Rock and Abrams’ episode, it’s a chance to relive some of the show’s finest moments this season as anticipation builds for the upcoming episodes of “SNL.”
