Snl Jon Hamm Live Episode

NEW YORK, NY — Saturday Night Live is pausing its historic 50th anniversary season after three consecutive weeks of new episodes. The next live episode will air on May 3, featuring Quinta Brunson as host and musical guest Benson Boone.

Jon Hamm returned to SNL for his fourth time as host on April 12, one of the highlights of a series that has showcased a plethora of A-list entertainers this season. Hamm’s appearance was met with enthusiasm, as he spoofed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and entertained audiences with sketches including a workplace horror story.

In his monologue, Hamm humorously noted his legacy on the show, saying, “In many ways, making a cameo is even more special than being the Host — which is something Lorne’s told me many times, always right before he loses service going into the tunnel.” Hamm’s comedic ability shone through as he captivated viewers with both classic and contemporary humor.

The April 12 episode was widely praised for its sketches, including a particularly viral segment featuring Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as Ivanka Trump alongside former cast members as members of the Trump family. Audiences were treated to an array of comedic performances, with notable cameos by cast members like Alex Moffat and Beck Bennett, who returned as Eric Trump and Vladimir Putin respectively.

Prior to Hamm’s episode, SNL featured an energetic performance from Lizzo in a previous week. Season 50 has been marked by high-profile hosts such as Lady Gaga, Timothée Chalamet, and Jack Black, helping to maintain SNL’s legacy as a cultural staple.

While SNL will not air a new episode on April 19, viewers can look forward to a rebroadcast of Dave Chappelle‘s record-setting January 19 episode, where he set the record for the longest SNL monologue at just under 17 minutes.

The upcoming May 3 episode promises to bring something fresh, as Brunson prepares to return to the stage after a successful debut in April 2023. The addition of Benson Boone as the musical guest further heightens anticipation, as he makes his own SNL debut.

Fans of the iconic sketch show will be eagerly awaiting more laughs as SNL returns to its roots of combining comedy with musical performances. In the meantime, replays of past episodes are available for those looking to relive memorable sketches from the series’ extensive history. With its remarkable milestone season coming to a close, viewers remain hopeful for more unforgettable moments on SNL.
