SnyderCut Mods Dismiss Call to Review Bomb New Superman Movie

Los Angeles, CA — The moderators of the SnyderCut subreddit took action on a troubling post urging fans to review bomb the upcoming Superman movie, releasing a statement to clarify their stance on the matter.
The post in question, made on Monday, called for supporters of the SnyderVerse to “stand up and fight” against DC Universe steward James Gunn, claiming that Gunn had “killed the Snyderverse.” The user urged fans to post spoilers, leave negative ratings, and reserve tickets without purchasing them.
James Gunn responded directly to the post on Threads, downplaying its influence. “Lol I think we’ll survive,” he remarked, suggesting that the post’s author likely had minimal impact. “I’m going to go out on a limb and guess it’s a guy,” he added, hinting at the narrow audience for such calls.
About two hours after the post went live, SnyderCut moderators removed it, stating it had received little engagement at that time. Acknowledging the screenshot circulating on social media, they emphasized their lack of approval for the original post. “Our staff never approved that post and does not endorse what it said,” the moderators wrote.
The moderators made it clear that while they respect everyone’s right to make consumer choices, they do not support any dishonest tactics aimed at manipulating movie attendance. “We support everyone’s right to vote with their wallets… but we do not support any dishonesty aimed at stopping someone else from seeing a movie,” they stated.
This incident marks another chapter in the ongoing saga of SnyderVerse fandom, which has previously influenced Warner Bros. through their efforts in the 2021 release of the Snyder Cut of Justice League.
In a recent interview, Gunn acknowledged the mixed feelings within the SnyderVerse fandom regarding the new Superman film. He pointed out that not all feedback is or should be positive, saying, “It’s all right to have an opposing force every once in a while.” He noted that while some reactions can be excessive, critical voices can help highlight genuine public sentiment.
The conversation surrounding the SnyderVerse continues to evolve, with Gunn and actors discussing the considerable online scrutiny that accompanies their projects. It raises questions about the influence of fan communities on studio decisions and ongoing franchises.
