New York Times Connections Game Hints

San Francisco, CA

Players looking to tackle the latest New York Times Connections puzzle have a new challenge. The popular word game, which focuses on uncovering connections between words, resets daily at midnight, keeping avid solvers on their toes.

Connections requires players to group four words that share a common characteristic. Today’s puzzle features 16 words divided into four categories. These categories can range from book titles to country names, creating a unique experience each day.

“Just like Wordle, there is only one right answer per grouping,” said Wyna Liu, the associate puzzle editor credited with developing the game. Players can make up to four mistakes before the game concludes, and correct answers remove those words from the board, adding to the excitement.

Players can rearrange the words to better spot connections. Each grouping is color-coded from yellow (easiest) to purple (hardest). This mechanic increases strategy as solvers attempt to connect the dots quickly.

The hints for today’s categories include playful clues: the yellow group relates to car brands, the green group to sports bar fare, the blue group centers on NHL team members, and the purple group explores words associated with looking up.

The correct answers for today include: yellow for car brands (Dodge, Ford, Lincoln, Ram), green for bit of sports bar fare (chip, dip, fry, wing), blue for NHL team members (Duck, Flyer, Senator, Star), and purple for sky-related terms (dive, lark, rocket, scraper).

Players can share their results on social media, making it a fun community event. Each day brings a new puzzle, ensuring that players have something to look forward to.
