Songwriters Hall Of Fame Induction Gala 2025

New York City, NY – The annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala will take place on June 12 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. This year marks the 54th iteration of the prestigious event, which honors some of the most influential songwriters in the music industry.

This year’s inductees include renowned figures such as George Clinton, members of The Doobie Brothers (Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald, Patrick Simmons), Ashley Gorley, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Mike Love, and Tony Macaulay. Each has made significant contributions to music, creating hits that have resonated with audiences.

Stephen Schwartz, famous for his work in musical theater and film, will receive the Johnny Mercer Award. His acclaimed credits include “Wicked,” “Pippin,” and “Pocahontas.” Additionally, Gracie Abrams will be honored with The Hal David Starlight Award after winning the American Music Award for New Artist of the Year in 2025.

Notable performers and presenters for the gala include Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and Aaron Dessner, among others. Although the SHOF does not disclose specific pairings of performers to honorees, educated guesses indicate that Dan + Shay may perform songs co-written by Ashley Gorley, such as “Nothin’ Like You” and “Save Me the Trouble.”

Musician John Stamos also has strong ties to The Beach Boys, elevating the excitement surrounding Mike Love’s induction. Throughout their history, musicians have often collaborated, with many including their children in performances. For instance, Sadie Gorley, daughter of Ashley Gorley, and Rodney Jerkins Jr., child of Rodney Jerkins, will participate in the event.

The list of artists and presenters set to join the gala is extensive, highlighting the depth of talent being recognized this year. With countless memorable hits and performances on the agenda, the 2025 Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Dinner promises to be an unforgettable evening.
