Sophia Bush Joins Grey’s Anatomy and Prepares for One Tree Hill Sequel
Sophia Bush, known for her iconic roles in the TV series ‘One Tree Hill‘ and ‘Chicago P.D.,’ is set to embark on two exciting new projects. Recently, it was announced that Bush will be joining the cast of ABC‘s long-running medical drama ‘Grey's Anatomy‘ in a recurring role. This move marks her return to the medical drama genre, a field where she has already made a significant impact.
In addition to her new role on ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ Bush is also involved in the upcoming sequel series of ‘One Tree Hill,’ which is currently in development at Netflix. Alongside Hilarie Burton, Bush will reprise her role as Brooke Davis and serve as an executive producer for the series. The sequel will be set in the present day in the fictional town of Tree Hill, North Carolina, and will focus on the challenges faced by Brooke and Peyton’s teenage children as they come of age.
The ‘One Tree Hill’ sequel series is notable not only for its return to the beloved characters but also for its female-led production team. Bush and Burton are committed to telling the story through a female lens, emphasizing the importance of female teamwork in the project. Danneel Ackles, who played Rachel Gatina in the original series, is also in talks to reprise her role and join the production team under her Chaos Machine banner.
The announcement of the ‘One Tree Hill’ sequel comes despite the series’ complicated past, including allegations of mistreatment by the original showrunner Mark Schwahn. However, with Bush and Burton at the helm, fans are hopeful that this new iteration will address past issues and provide a fresh, positive perspective on the characters and their stories.
