South African Singer Tyla Wins Best African Music Performance At 2024 Grammys

South African singer, Tyla, emerged victorious in the Best African Music Performance category at the 66th Grammy Awards held on Sunday. Tyla’s hit single ‘Water‘ outshined the music offerings from other African acts, including Nigeria’s Davido, Asake, and Burna Boy. Competing against songs such as Davido’s ‘Unavailable,’ Asake’s ‘Amapiano,’ Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys,’ and Ayra Starr‘s ‘Rush,’ Tyla’s track claimed the much-coveted award.

‘Water’ proved to be a global sensation as it reached the top 10 charts in 16 countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States.

The 66th Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony, where the award was presented, took place at the prestigious Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
