LOS ANGELES, California — Southern California is set for cooler temperatures on Thursday, following a string of warm days earlier this week. The region will likely experience afternoon sunshine, but rain is expected this weekend.

On Thursday, temperatures will generally stay in the 60s and 70s. Areas in the San Gabriel Valley and Ventura County may see showers and thunderstorms by the afternoon. Los Angeles and Orange counties can look forward to temperatures reaching a high of around 70 degrees.

Similar weather is in the forecast for Friday, with the valleys and the Inland Empire anticipated to have a mix of morning clouds and afternoon sunshine. Highs will reach approximately 73 degrees. At the beaches, temperatures will remain cooler, with highs around 64 degrees.

The mountains could see a slight chance of rain on Thursday, with temperatures reaching 63 degrees, while there is also potential for light snow over the weekend. Deserts will experience windy conditions, with highs around 79 degrees.

Looking ahead, rain is predicted to arrive on Saturday across the region. The mountains may receive snowfall as the weekend progresses.

Weather officials encourage residents to remain prepared for changing conditions and to stay updated on the forecast as the weekend approaches.
