Specialist Volunteers from Netherlands Deployed in Ongoing Search for Missing Jay Slater in Tenerife
A team of dedicated volunteers from Signi Zoekhonden, a non-profit organization based in the Netherlands, has embarked on a new mission to assist in the search for missing individual Jay Slater in Tenerife.
Debbie Duncan, Jay Slater’s mother, expressed gratitude towards the donors who made it possible for the team of five volunteers and four sniffer dogs, led by Marieke Krans, to travel to Tenerife.
Jay Slater, a 19-year-old from Lancashire, disappeared on June 17th after a night out at the NRG Music Festival in Playa de Las Americas, with the last contact being a call where he mentioned being lost in Masca with low battery.
Following the official search’s suspension by Spanish authorities due to lack of leads, Signi Zoekhonden, with over 20 years of experience in missing persons cases, offered their expertise to help locate Jay.
The team plans to utilize search dogs, drones pending flight permissions, and their extensive skills in locating missing individuals, be it on land or in challenging terrains.
Upon arrival in Tenerife, the team aims to collaborate with Jay’s family, local authorities including the Guardia Civil, and conduct searches for approximately five-and-a-half days to expand the search efforts.
Despite the official search conclusion, the Guardia Civil continues the investigation into Jay Slater’s disappearance, while his family remains in Tenerife indefinitely determined to find him.
Debbie Duncan, through LBT Global, voiced concerns over online conspiracy theories hindering the investigation and urged for a halt to the spread of such misinformation.
The family, with the unwavering support of LBT Global, the British embassy, and other supporters, is tirelessly striving to uncover the whereabouts of Jay Slater in the ongoing search efforts.
