C Spire Launches 5G Home Internet to Bridge Mississippi’s Digital Divide

RIDGELAND, Miss. — C Spire, a leading telecommunications and technology services company, has launched its 5G Home Internet service to expand high-speed internet access in rural Mississippi, where approximately 23% of households lack connectivity. The service, which became available on January 19, 2025, utilizes Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technology to deliver reliable internet to areas without traditional fiber or cable infrastructure.

The service, powered by C Spire’s nationwide 5G wireless network, offers download speeds of up to 100 Mbps and includes a premium wireless router, the Inseego 5G Wavemaker FX3110, which supports up to 64 connected devices. C Spire partnered with Inseego Corp., a leader in 5G technology, to implement this expansion.

According to Broadbandnow.com, Mississippi ranks among the states with the lowest internet connectivity rates in the U.S. C Spire’s initiative aims to address this gap by leveraging its 5G network to reach underserved areas. The service is initially available to a limited number of homes, with plans for broader expansion in the future.
