Splitgate 2 Launch Set for June 6 with Surprises

PHOENIX, Arizona — 1047 Games has announced that Splitgate 2 will officially launch on June 6, 2025. The free-to-play game will be made available on multiple platforms, including PC through Steam, the Windows Store, and Epic Games Store. Players will also be able to access it on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
The launch comes after a successful open beta period, which began in early May. Players have the opportunity to buy a Beta Battlepass that allows them to unlock items before the official release. 1047 Games has noted that player progression will not reset once the game launches. This installment is a follow-up to the 2021 hit, Splitgate, and aims to fulfill the developers’ vision for the franchise.
“The biggest part of the game will be revealed on June 6 during the launch,” 1047 Games stated. They also teased a major surprise during the Summer Game Fest live broadcast, which coincides with the game’s launch.
The developers released an emotional trailer today, showcasing the struggles of a character from the game’s fictional Sabrask faction. The trailer highlights the psychological toll that resurrection from death in-game takes on its characters, offering a deeper narrative perspective than typical first-person shooters.
According to the release, this new edition of Splitgate will feature fresh game modes, new weapons, and a map creator, expanding on what players can do. Players will become fully immersed in the game’s competitive environment while managing the existential challenges posed to their characters.
As excitement builds around the launch, 1047 Games has encouraged players to continue participating in the open beta, which still offers chances to earn cosmetics and prepare for the full release. The community eagerly awaits the anticipated surprises promised for the Summer Game Fest.
