SSC GD Constable Vacancy Increased to 46,617 – Result Delay Expected
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has revised the vacancies for the SSC GD Constable recruitment to 46,617, a significant increase from the initial 26,000 positions. The commission released a notice on June 13, 2024, announcing the updated figures for Constable (GD) and Rifleman (GD) in various forces.
The revised vacancies include positions in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and various other forces increasing the total openings to 46,617.
This modification in the recruitment numbers hints at a potential delay in the announcement of the SSC GD Constable result. Although no official information regarding result declaration has been provided by the commission, the revised vacancies suggest a longer wait time for aspirants.
The SSC had already released the answer key for the SSC GD examination on April 3, 2024. Candidates are anxiously awaiting the GD Constable written exam results, which may now take longer due to the increased vacancies.
The vacancies for different forces after the revision stand as follows:
BSF – 10,276 (Men), 18,490 (Women); CISF – 11,558 (Men), 2,074 (Women); CRPF – 9,301 (Men), 109 (Women); SSB – 1,884 (Men), 42 (Women); ITBP – 5,327 (Men), 960 (Women); AR – 2,948 (Men), 42 (Women); SSF – 222 (Men), 74 (Women); NCB – 0 (Men), 0 (Women).
Following the declaration of the SSC GD Constable Computer-Based Exam (CBE) results, candidates will be called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) as per the official notification. The announcement of PET/PST dates and locations is expected post the SSC GD CBT 2024 results.
