Met Gala Red Carpet Fashion 2025

NEW YORK, NY — The 2025 Met Gala took place last night, May 5, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, bringing together celebrities from around the globe to celebrate fashion’s most exclusive night. This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” honors the history and significance of Black men’s fashion.

The annual gala, which acts as the main fundraiser for the Costume Institute, featured a dress code of “Tailored for You,” which encouraged attendees to creatively interpret the night’s theme. The Costume Institute’s newest exhibition, open from May 10 to October 26, is arranged around twelve characteristics of Black dandyism, exploring how style contributes to the formation of Black identities.

This year’s event was hosted by singer and actor Teyana Taylor, actor and producer La La Anthony, and comedian Ego Nwodim, with influencer Emma Chamberlain serving as Vogue’s special correspondent. “Black style is really related to thinking about how fashion and power connect,” said guest curator Monica L. Miller. Miller’s work is inspired by her book, “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.”

Attendants included co-chairs Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo, and honorary chair LeBron James, among many others. Notable figures like André 3000, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and Spike Lee also graced the host committee. The Met Gala continues to be a vital event for fashion and fundraising, as every year it provides essential support for the Costume Institute’s operations.

The night was filled with excitement as celebrities arrived on the red carpet, showcasing fascinating interpretations of the theme. While Vogue livestreamed the event across its platforms, fans eagerly watched for glimpses of their favorite stars and their remarkable outfits. The Met Gala is known not only for its glitzy atmosphere but also for establishing and celebrating cultural conversations through fashion.

As the first Monday of May remains a hallmark for the gala, it continues to set the stage for what becomes the most talked-about night in fashion.
