Stars Shine in Rehearsals Ahead of the 2025 Oscars

LOS ANGELES, March 1, 2025 — With just one day to go until the 97th Academy Awards, a flurry of Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered at the Dolby Theatre to rehearse for their upcoming presentations. Among them were Andrew Garfield and Goldie Hawn, who were spotted preparing to announce the Best Animated Feature and Best Animated Short categories.
During the lively Saturday morning session, Sterling K. Brown, a Best Supporting Actor nominee last year, joined his co-presenter, Emma Stone, on stage. Casual in a black hoodie and shorts, Brown linked arms with Stone, who is nominated for Best Actress, to practice their lines from the teleprompter. “I gotchu,” Brown encouraged, as the pair successfully completed their first run-through, prompting Stone to cheer, “Let’s do it!”
The atmosphere was vibrant, as many stars, including Hawn, Whoopi Goldberg, and Oprah Winfrey, appeared relaxed and makeup-free while rehearsing their respective segments. Stein, known for her self-deprecating humor, remarked after fumbling her lines, “Oh God, this is going to go great,” generating laughter from the audience, comprised mainly of production staff.
In a delightful moment, Hawn and Garfield shared a playful camaraderie on stage. Hawn, dressed in a sharp black pantsuit, briefly stumbled over her lines, prompting Garfield, who sported an untucked button-down and glasses, to rub her back for comfort before they nailed their practice take, culminating in a celebratory high-five.
The Academy has revealed that this year’s Oscars will feature a star-studded lineup of presenters. Winfrey, Brown, and de Armas are among those confirmed for the event, which promises to be a spectacular gathering of talent.
As the rehearsal sessions progressed, Garfield and Hawn’s chemistry was evident as they prepared for their roles. “Okay, here we go…” Hawn said, as she and Garfield worked on their timing, playfully linking arms to add a personal touch to their delivery.
All eyes will be on the Dolby Theatre when the ceremony airs live on Sunday, March 2, at 7 p.m. ET on ABC and Hulu. With an expected array of surprises, Hollywood’s biggest night is set to celebrate cinematic achievements amidst unforgettable moments on stage.
