Startup Cekura Secures $2.4 Million for AI Voice Solutions

San Francisco, CA – Cekura, an eight-month-old startup focused on AI voice technology, has successfully raised $2.4 million in seed funding. The round was led by Y Combinator, with participation from Flex Capital, Hike Ventures, Pioneer Fund, and Decacorn. Several angel investors, including Kulveer Taggar and Ooshma Garg, also contributed.
Founded by IIT Bombay graduates Sidhant Kabra, Tarush Agarwal, and Shashij Gupta, Cekura operates in an innovative space of AI agents, primarily in healthcare. Kabra stated that their team has been addressing challenges with quality assurance amid lengthy manual fixes that can hinder efficiency.
Cekura’s unique approach leverages AI to simulate realistic conversations, exploring thousands of edge-case scenarios before deploying voice agents. Kabra explained, “You need to really stress test your agents before you go live,” emphasizing the necessity of preparing for unexpected customer interactions.
The startup currently serves about 70 clients in industries such as healthcare and finance, where reliability is critical. Notable clients include AI mortgage servicing company Kastle and Sandra, an AI receptionist for car dealerships.
The company operates on a subscription model, starting at $1,000 per month, and has plans to expand its workforce by onboarding three new employees next month. Kabra highlighted the growth potential in the industry, focusing not only on voice agents but also on chat agents.
Cekura is among several Y Combinator alums working in the AI voice space, competing with companies like Coval and Hamming, as the demand for agentic AI continues to rise.
