AUBURN HILLS, MichiganStellantis announced plans today to invest $13 billion in U.S. manufacturing over the next four years. This investment will add more than 5,000 jobs and boost domestic vehicle production by 50%. The announcement marks Stellantis’ largest investment in its 100-year history in the U.S.

The new funding will support the launch of five new vehicles and the production of a new four-cylinder engine at its facilities in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. Antonio Filosa, Stellantis CEO, stressed the importance of this investment in driving growth and strengthening the company’s manufacturing presence in the U.S.

“This investment in the U.S. — the single largest in the Company’s history — will drive our growth, strengthen our manufacturing footprint and bring more American jobs to the states we call home,” Filosa said.

Stellantis will invest over $600 million in Illinois, reopening the Belvidere Assembly Plant to increase production of the Jeep® Cherokee and Jeep® Compass, creating around 3,300 new jobs. Ohio will see nearly $400 million invested to move the assembly of a midsize truck to the Toledo Assembly Complex, which will create more than 900 jobs.

In Michigan, Stellantis plans a nearly $100 million investment for a new electric and internal combustion engine SUV at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant, adding over 900 jobs. Indiana will receive over $100 million to produce a new four-cylinder engine at its Kokomo facilities, creating more than 100 jobs.

These efforts are part of a broader strategy as Stellantis aims to enhance its vehicle offerings and adapt to changing market demands. The investment is expected to accelerate growth through innovation and cater to customer preferences.

Stellantis’ manufacturing footprint includes 34 facilities across 14 states, supporting 48,000 employees and thousands of suppliers. Today’s announcement follows earlier commitments made in January.
