Stephanie McMahon Dazzles with Rhea Ripley on New ESPN+ Show

ORLANDO, Fla. — Stephanie McMahon showcased a new side of herself on the latest episode of the ESPN+ program “Stephanie’s Places,” featuring WWE‘s No. 1 contender for the Women’s World Championship, Rhea Ripley. The episode aired on April 9 and highlighted both athletes’ journey in wrestling and the changing dynamics of the sport.
During the episode, McMahon expressed admiration for Ripley, a 28-year-old Australian star. “I love your music, my famous last words,” McMahon said. She further described the experience of accompanying Ripley on stage as a rare and thrilling opportunity. “Not many people get the opportunity to accompany Rhea Ripley on stage. How could I say no? If I’m doing it, I’m going all in,” she added.
McMahon has been involved in wrestling for over two decades but admitted that participating in Ripley’s entrance was a distinctive experience. “For more than two decades, I’ve been a part of many entrances, but nothing could be cooler than actually becoming Rhea Ripley,” she stated. “I could feel Rhea’s energy, even with no fans in the stands. She has tremendous stature, poise, intelligence, strength, and vulnerability. Like Stone Cold said, Rhea Ripley is the total package.”
In a separate segment, Ripley discussed the challenges she faced as a young wrestling fan. She revealed that her passion for WWE often led to ridicule from peers and educators. “As a kid, it was just so captivating. I loved every second of it. I did school projects on WWE, but my teachers would laugh,” Ripley shared.
Ripley also recounted how some friends and family members doubted her aspirations, telling her she would never succeed in the wrestling industry. “They doubted me and made fun of me. Having some family members say, ‘You are never going to make it. You’re never going to be a name,’ was tough to hear,” she said. “I’ve always had an issue with my build, and the negativity from others lingered in my mind for years.”
Despite the challenges, Ripley found strength in the support of her family. “Just knowing that my mom and dad love me has been a massive anchor for me,” she said, reflecting on the encouragement she received amidst the bullying. “I’m also so fired up by it. I do really well when I am angry. And it’s something that has led me to this place.”
The episode of “Stephanie’s Places” emphasizes the passion needed for success in wrestling while also highlighting the importance of resilience against adversity in pursuing one’s dreams.
