Sterling K. Brown James Marsden Musical Performance

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Sterling K. Brown, the acclaimed actor known for his roles in “This Is Us” and the new Hulu series “Paradise,” recently shared his enthusiasm for musical theater during an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Brown discussed his appreciation for colleague James Marsden’s vocal talents while promoting his latest project.

During last week’s episode, Brown, who stars as Xavier Collins in “Paradise,” recounted how Marsden, a former X-Men actor, often contributes musical elements on set. “He likes to sing,” Brown said. “He’ll hear me just sort of humming something. I only do the melody, but he will come in with the harmony. And, like, really. He kills it every time.”

Brown’s passion for the musical genre was evident as he spoke with Colbert. When asked about his favorite song, he revealed that he is particularly fond of “For Good” from the Broadway sensation “Wicked.” “It’s such a beautiful song about friendship and love,” Brown explained.

As the conversation progressed, Colbert encouraged Brown to showcase his vocal skills. To the delight of the audience, Brown performed a few lines from “For Good,” earning a round of applause. Brown’s interest in musicals raises questions among fans: could a collaboration between him and Marsden be on the horizon?

Both actors have shown their versatility within the entertainment industry, and the potential for a musical venture together excites their fans. While there are currently no official announcements regarding a joint musical project, the chemistry between Brown and Marsden has left the audience eagerly awaiting more.
