Stranger Things Season 5 Release Dates

LOS ANGELES, CA — The fifth and final season of the hit series Stranger Things will premiere in three parts, Netflix announced at its Tudum 2025 event on May 31. Fans can expect the first part to drop on November 26, 2025, followed by another on Christmas Day, and the finale on New Year’s Eve.

Season 5 will consist of eight episodes, with Volume 1 featuring four episodes available starting at 5 p.m. PST. Volume 2 will have three episodes release at the same time on December 25, and the series will conclude with its final episode on December 31.

In this season, the story continues in the fall of 1987, a year after the events of Season 4. The show follows the group in Hawkins, Indiana, as they confront Vecna, who threatens their town once again. Executive producers Matt and Ross Duffer noted that this season will delve deeper into the mythology of the Upside Down.

“The last remaining questions that are answered in that document, we’ve punted a couple of those to have some big reveals in Season 5,” said Ross Duffer.

The series has garnered a massive following since its debut in 2016, with fans eagerly anticipating the conclusion of this beloved story. The full cast returns for Season 5, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, and Jamie Campbell Bower who plays the antagonist Vecna.

Alongside the main cast, four new characters will join the lineup. This includes Jake Connelly, Nell Fisher, and actress Linda Hamilton, known for her iconic role in the Terminator franchise. The addition of new characters aims to enhance the story while focusing on the development of familiar characters.

The Duffer Brothers expressed their intention to ensure fans are not shortchanged by the series finale. With significant changes and character arcs, they aim to wrap up the story in a satisfying manner.

As the countdown to the premiere begins, anticipation continues to build not just for the release dates, but for the final unveiling of long-awaited resolutions in the upside-down world of Stranger Things.
