Phoenix Suns Jalen Green Injury News

PHOENIX, Ariz. — The Phoenix Suns will look to push their record above .500 for the second time this season as they face the New Orleans Pelicans on Nov. 10 at the Mortgage Matchup Center. The Suns, with a current record of 5-5, are on a two-game win streak, having most recently defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 114-103 on Nov. 8.

Without Jalen Green, who reinjured his right hamstring, the Suns will need to rely on their depth against the struggling Pelicans, who hold a record of 2-7 and sit at the bottom of the Western Conference. Green had just returned from an eight-game absence to score 29 points, but suffered the setback in the first quarter of the last game.

“It’s tough,” Suns forward Dillon Brooks said regarding Green’s injury. “Injuries suck, but he’ll work hard and be diligent with it.” Suns coach Jordan Ott expressed concern over his team’s health with illness affecting multiple players, including Royce O’Neale, who is listed as probable for the game against the Pelicans.

The Suns have also had a busy schedule, playing every other day since Nov. 2 against the San Antonio Spurs. Coach Ott noted that managing the team’s health is crucial as they face high-quality opponents regularly. O’Neale’s presence will be important as the Suns aim to maintain momentum without Green.

During Green’s absence earlier this season, his teammates have stepped up, demonstrating resilience. Devin Booker said the team is prepared to rally around Green and stay focused. “The priority is to make sure he’s healthy and fully ready to go next time,” Booker said.

Despite the injury woes, the Suns continue to maintain a strong performance, winning four of their last five games following a 1-4 start to the season. They look to extend their winning streak against a Pelicans team that will also be without star player Zion Williamson, sidelined with a left hamstring strain.

As the game approaches, updates on the status of other players, including O’Neale, will be crucial for the Suns’ game plan. The challenge of facing the Pelicans is one they aim to meet head-on, especially with the knowledge that each game is vital to their standings in the competitive Western Conference.
