Supermodel Georgina Cooper Dies Aged 46, Just Months After Her Wedding
Supermodel Georgina Cooper, a prominent figure of the ‘Cool Britannia‘ era in the 1990s, has passed away at the age of 46. Her death occurred on the island of Kos in Greece, where she was residing with her new husband, Nigel, just months after their wedding.
Cooper began her modeling career at the age of 13 in 1992 and quickly rose to fame, appearing on the covers of notable fashion magazines such as The Face and American Vogue. Her debut in the industry included a notable appearance in a Bon Jovi music video at the age of 15.
According to her former agent, Dean Goodman, Cooper had been unwell since recovering from COVID-19 and had developed significant health issues. Despite these challenges, she had been looking forward to her new life with her husband and had plans to set up a bar in Kos.
Tributes have poured in from the fashion community, with fellow models Jade Parfitt and Erin O'Connor expressing their grief and admiration for Cooper. Parfitt described her as “one of the funniest and naughtiest, never mind most beautiful friends,” while O’Connor remembered her as “an incredibly loving and kind human being”.
Cooper’s sudden passing has left a significant impact on the fashion industry, with many remembering her warmth, generosity, and the vibrant personality she brought to the runway and backstage.
