Susie Bradley And Todd Carney Wedding

Married At First Sight star Susie Bradley has recently provided updates on her upcoming wedding plans, following her engagement earlier this year. Bradley, who appeared on Season 5 of the reality TV show, posted an image on social media indicating “119 days” to the anticipated wedding, suggesting a wedding date in January 2024. This announcement follows their engagement in May 2023, spectacularly marked by a beachside proposal during which Todd Carney asked Bradley to marry him with a message written in the sand.

The couple’s engagement and relationship have attracted significant attention, partly due to their previous breakup in 2023 and a rekindled romance shortly thereafter. Susie and Todd, who began dating in 2019, initially got engaged in 2020, but have since acknowledged that their journey included significant personal challenges. Carney, a former National Rugby League (NRL) star, has spoken candidly about his struggles with sobriety and how they affected both his professional career and personal life.

“I wish I could rewind it back,” Carney expressed in an interview with Nine‘s The Sunday Footy Show, reflecting on his career struggles related to alcohol issues. Carney’s promising career in rugby league, which spanned over a decade, was marred by multiple incidents leading to his departure from clubs such as the Canberra Raiders, Sydney Roosters, and Cronulla Sharks due to off-field controversies.

Carney admitted the transition away from his rugby league career was challenging, acknowledging that it was a “huge transition phase.” He entered a rehabilitation program in early 2023, during which he recognized the need to address his personal issues. Carney attributes part of his motivation to seek help to his relationship with Bradley. “When I finished footy, met my partner, Susie, and had my son,” Carney recounted, “Susie said to me one day, ‘I can’t be around you when you drink,’ that was a wake-up call for me”.

Highlighting the complexities faced by professional athletes post-retirement, Carney elaborated on how his early start in the NRL at age 17 left him unprepared for life beyond sports. “I wish I went through and finished school,” he reflected, noting that the demands of professional rugby did not allow for a typical teenage experience.

Currently, Todd Carney is focusing on sobriety as he and Bradley plan their future together, which includes their shared responsibility of raising their young son, Lion Daryl, and Bradley’s daughter from a previous relationship. Despite past turmoil, Bradley remains optimistic about their relationship, calling it “better than ever” and expressing her excitement about their future plans together.
