Sydney Sweeney Shines In 'saturday Night Live' Debut

Sydney Sweeney made a confident debut as the guest host on ‘Saturday Night Live,’ showcasing her comedic chops throughout various sketches.

Sweeney, known for her roles in ‘Euphoria‘ and ‘The White Lotus,’ tackled diverse characters on the show, playing an intern, a cheerleader, and a wedding makeup artist, among others.

Despite the material not always offering depth, Sweeney’s performance stood out in sketches like ‘Straight Single Bowen’ with Bowen Yang and a humorously absurd filmed segment from Please Don’t Destroy.

Musical guest Kacey Musgraves delivered live performances of ‘Justified’ and ‘Camera Roll.’

The episode kicked off with a parody of ‘Inside Politics with Dana Bash,’ featuring Heidi Gardner, and guests impersonating public figures like Gavin Newsom, Karine Jean-Pierre, and Draymond Green, all praising an exaggerated version of President Joe Biden.

In her monologue, Sweeney quipped about her career, upcoming projects, and addressed rumors alongside surprise appearances from Powell, her fiancé Jonathan Davino, and fellow SNL cast members.

One standout sketch involved Sweeney teaming up with Chloe Troast as interior designers helping Airbnb renters, showcasing the duo’s quirky and relatable antics.

The show also featured a playful absurdity from Please Don’t Destroy, grieving the loss of a character named Rev. Butt Cheek P. Rosenthal.

Ego Nwodim stole the spotlight as a sassy stingray named Charlotte on ‘Weekend Update,’ delivering hilarious lines and interactions with Michael Che.
