Sza Coco Jones Shannon Sharpe Interview

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Grammy-winning singer SZA has publicly criticized a question posed by former NFL star Shannon Sharpe during an interview with actress Coco Jones on his podcast, “Club Shay Shay.” The segment, which aired recently, sparked controversy surrounding discussions of cosmetic surgery.

During the interview, Sharpe referenced SZA’s previous comments about her regret over undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). He asked Jones if she knew of anyone who regretted the procedure. “Um, no,” Jones replied, shifting the focus to her friends who encouraged such enhancements, saying, “The girls that I talk to, they be like, ‘Girl, do this.’”

The exchange quickly garnered attention online, with many viewers questioning the relevance of Sharpe’s question to Jones. A user remarked, “Why would this question be for her,” while another added, “Asking her about SZA is wild.”

SZA herself weighed in on the discussion, commenting on the viral clip, “Lmaooo now why would this be a question for coco. Poor baby she handled it well 😂❤️ now Shay Shay.” The singer further described the question as “incredibly tacky” and expressed her desire to be included in such discussions with, “I wanted to come here too 😂 dah well.”

Earlier, SZA opened up about her own experiences with the BBL in conversations with British Vogue, where she admitted feelings of regret. “I’m so mad I did that shit. I gained all this weight from being immobile while recovering and trying to preserve the fat. It was just so stupid,” she stated. Despite her mixed emotions, SZA acknowledged her love for her body, saying, “I love my butt. Don’t get me wrong. My booty looks nice.”

The discussion around body image and cosmetic surgery continues to resonate, particularly among young audiences influenced by celebrities. Fans have rallied behind SZA, urging Sharpe to refrain from asking female guests about other women’s choices regarding their bodies.

As the conversation unfolds, SZA is also preparing to hit the road with Kendrick Lamar for a nationwide tour starting in April, showcasing her resilience and commitment to her artistry despite the scrutiny that comes with public life.
