Sza And Keke Palmer In One Of Them Days Movie

LOS ANGELES, CA — Grammy-winning singer SZA makes her film debut alongside Keke Palmer in the new buddy comedy, “One of Them Days,” which begins streaming on Netflix on March 31, 2025. The film follows two friends, Dreux and Alyssa, who scramble to gather $1,500 to avoid eviction after their rent money is stolen by Alyssa’s boyfriend.

Directed by Lawrence Lamont and written by Syreeta Singleton, who also contributed to the HBO series “Insecure,” the film explores the comedic machinations of Dreux and Alyssa as they devise a plan to secure the necessary funds before their landlord takes action.

“One of Them Days” premiered in theaters on January 17, 2025, and has enjoyed box office success, grossing over $51 million worldwide against a budget of $14 million. The film has been well-received by critics, boasting a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 103 reviews. The consensus highlights the film’s charm and the strong chemistry between the leads.

SZA, also known for her music, describes her film debut as a “bucket list” experience. In an interview, she expressed her excitement, saying, “I’m trying something brand new… I have tons of fears of being perceived on camera, and being next to Keke, who’s a superstar, is surreal.”

Joining SZA and Palmer in the cast are Vanessa Bell Calloway, Katt Williams, Lil Rel Howery, Maude Apatow, Janelle James, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, and Amin Joseph.

For viewers without a Netflix subscription, the comedy is also available for rental or purchase through video-on-demand services. Netflix offers an ad-based subscription starting at $7.99 per month, with additional ad-free options available at varying price points.

As audiences await its debut on Netflix, “One of Them Days” promises to deliver laughs and relatable situations aimed at a wide audience, especially those familiar with the struggles of adulthood.
